ZAMBIAN FASHON

Allow me to start with a statement "I am totally impressed with the fashion industry in Zambia" ,lately I have noticed an increase in the number of local fashion designers among the notable ones are Debbie Chu, fay designs, mo creations and couture,Byenda Nkwenda, Karen Nakamba,Vonetta, Popoka, Ruth Chimbala,Naomi Phiri

 etc. most of these designers  are young and vibrant thus the more reason they need everyone's support in order for them to grow the industry to higher heights. The fashion industry is a wealth creation industry and can also contribute to foreign income for this nation.

In our everyday lives we move with trends i.e whats new on the market? , which style is most happening? these and many more questions can only be answered by fashion designers as their designs should follow with time and creativity.

Ours is the chitenge material as it’s the symbol of African wear since the times of our forefathers, we have come to appreciate it and treasure it as our identity from the time we are born to the time we grow old. It is the African pride and its value so rich though cheaper in price.

My advice to my fellow young people is whatever your talent is use it to achieve your dreams for nothing is impossible when you set your mind at something for the sky is not the limit.
